MARDI GRAS

Tues., Feb. 16, 6:30-8:30 pm – Join us as we celebrate Mardi Gras at Pentecost with Devotions, Gumbo, Jambalaya, great N’Awlins-style music, make your own floats (out of shoe boxes) and masks and select a King/Queen of the Mardi Gras.  You won’t want to miss it!!

                           

ASH WEDNESDAY:

Wednesday, February 17th at 7:00 pm DW/St.S with our neighbors at St. Sebastian Catholic Church (55th & Washington Blvd.) 

6:30 pm Service at Pentecost (52nd & Burleigh) 

Fri., Feb. 19, 6-9:00 pm – View/discuss anti-racism film “Race in the Age of Obama” at DW.  Bring your own beverage (non-alcoholic) and we provide the popcorn.

GOSPEL FEST:

Sun., Feb. 21, 3:00 pm - Join us for an uplifting, multicultural concert featuring choirs from the Parks Neighborhood Parish (DW & P), Cross Lutheran church, St. Sebastian Catholic Church and others, culminating with a Mass Choir performance under the direction of Dr. Abe Caceres. Fellowship and treats will follow.  We will accept a free will offering to benefit the MLK Scholarship Fund and the ELCA Disaster Relief for Haiti.

MONSTER FUNDRAISER:

Sat., Feb. 27, 10 am-4 pm at DW.  We expect to find ways for EVERYONE to participate in raising money for the Parks Neighborhood Parish (DW & P) thru this event.  It’s a CHILI COOK-OFF (enter your favorite chili and/or be a judge), CRAFT FAIR, GALLERY NIGHT, SILENT AUCTION AND BAKE SALE – featuring Pastor Michelle’s fabulous cakes.  Please consider doing whatever you can to make this event a MONSTER success.  Bring a neighbor and friend.
